About My Approach

What does “neurodiversity-affirming therapy” mean?

It means I see autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergences as natural human variations — not problems to fix. Therapy focuses on understanding your authentic self, reducing shame, and developing ways of living that work with your brain rather than forcing you to mask or meet neurotypical expectations.

Who can work with you?

I work with autistic and ADHD adults who are physically located in Minnesota, Florida, Arizona or Ohio at the time of each session due to licensing laws. Many clients are exploring their neurodivergent identity, navigating burnout, managing anxiety or depression, struggling with masking or perfectionism, or seeking therapy that genuinely understands neurodivergence.

What kinds of concerns do you help with?

I support adults navigating burnout, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, emotional overwhelm, and the long-term impact of masking and misunderstanding. My work is trauma-informed and always adapted to neurodivergent sensory, cognitive, and processing needs.

What makes working with you different?

Many clients come to me after feeling misunderstood or pathologized in previous therapy. My work blends professional training with lived experience as a late-identified autistic/ADHD adult. I don’t simply accommodate neurodivergence — I center it. Sessions are collaborative, validating, and shaped around how your brain works.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals. Some clients want focused, short-term support; others choose longer-term therapy for identity work, trauma healing, emotional regulation, or major life transitions. Pace and duration are always decided together.

Fit, Identity & Readiness

Can I work with you if I don’t have a diagnosis?

Yes. Many clients come to therapy without a formal diagnosis. You do not need an official label to explore your experiences, understand your nervous system, or work toward a life that fits you better.

Can therapy still help if I’m unsure how to understand my neurodivergence?

Yes. Therapy can support identity exploration, burnout recovery, emotional regulation, trauma healing, and self-understanding regardless of how clearly defined your identity feels right now. This work is about making sense of your lived experience — not meeting a diagnostic threshold.

What is expected of me in sessions?

There is no expectation to mask, translate yourself, or perform neurotypicality in this work. You can stim, fidget, use notes, take breaks, communicate in writing, infodump, or sit in silence. Therapy is shaped around how you naturally think, communicate, and regulate — not around external norms.

Sessions & Accessibility

How do sessions work?

All sessions take place via secure telehealth. You can join from anywhere that feels comfortable, as long as you are physically located in Minnesota, Florida, or Arizona during the session. Standard sessions are 60 minutes.

What if I have accessibility needs?

Your needs come first. Sessions can include flexible pacing, movement breaks, alternative communication styles, visual or written supports, and space for silence. Therapy is always adapted to your comfort and capacity.

What happens if technology fails?

If the connection drops, we’ll switch to phone. If the outage continues, we’ll reschedule at no cost. Technology issues are normal and never your fault.

Insurance, Payment & Policies

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits, which may help with co-pays or reimburse a portion of session costs. Coverage varies widely by plan. If you have questions about cost or benefits, we can explore options during your free consultation.

How much does therapy cost?

Sessions are $225 for 60 minutes. I also accept HSA/FSA.

Do you offer reduced-fee or discounted sessions?

Yes. I reserve a small number of reduced-fee spots to support accessibility. Availability is limited and based on current capacity.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when possible. Late cancellations and no-shows are billed at half the session fee.
